A protracted conflict between the Akatsi Cooperative Transport Union and the Ghana Private Roads Transport Union (GPRTU) has been resolved a few weeks after Joy News reported on the matter.
The Akatsi Cooperative Transport Union petitioned President John Mahama on the conflict which had been obstructing the road transport business in the Volta Region town.
The Akatsi Drivers of Cooperative Transport Union say the DCE of Akatsi South, Samuel Wuadi, had taken sides with the GPRTU members and was been preventing them [Akatsi drivers] from going about their transport business peacefully.
The President subsequently ordered for a probe into the protracted conflict.
A crunch meeting was then organised by the Volta Regional Minister Hellen Adjoa Ntosu after which the issue was resolved.
Lord Sampson Duho, Secretary of the Akatsi Cooperative Transport Union told Joy News' Ivy Sertodzi, the President's intervention has been helpful.
"We appreciate the way and manner the [President] dealt with the matter. We thank the President and the Minister for Local Government who actually received our petition", said Mr Duho.
