One more official of the National Malaria Control Programme (NACP) is expected to be interdicted Thursday as investigations continue into fire that ravaged Central Medical Stores in Tema.
Joy News sources say Coordinator of the NGO Desk at NACP, Nana Yaa Williams, is expected to receive her letter of interdiction from the Ministry of Health later today.
Head of Stores at Central Medical Stores and Head of the NACP Dr. Constance Bart Plange has already been asked to step aside while investigations continue.
The Bureau of National Interdiction (BNI) on Monday picked up 10 persons for questioning in connection with the 4-day long ravaging fire at the national drugs warehouse.

Although the names of all ten top officials of the Ghana Health Service are yet to be made official, Joy News learned of names such as that of Director Procurement and Supply of the Ministry of Health, Samuel Boateng; Director Supply Stores and Drug Management at the Ghana Health Service, Dr Kwesi Addai Donkor, and Head of Stores at the Central Medical Stores, Abdul Karim Iddrisu.
Dr. Bart Plange told Joy News in an interview on Tuesday Nana Yaa Williams was already being investigated for unaccounted drugs at the store before the 4-day long inferno.
More than GH¢230 million worth of drugs were destroyed in the fire last week.
Although the Ghana Health Service says the country has more than 3-month supply of drugs, the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana has asked pharmaceutical companies to donate essential medicines to support the state to mitigate the impact of the fire on the provision of health care in the country.
