The Institute of Human Resources Management Practitioners (IHRMP) has sworn in a 5-member Board of Trustees to raise and manage fund towards the building of an ultra-modern HR Complex at a short ceremony at the HR Centre on Thursday, February 5, 2015.
The Members are:
1. Mr. Daniel Asiedu (MD/CEO, Zenith Bank Ghana Ltd) - Chairman
2. Mrs. Florence Hutchful (Partner, 2MB Consult Ltd) - Member
3. Mr. John Eluerkeh (Consultant, Land Administration Project & Vice Chair Professional Certification Board - IHRMP) - Member
4. Mr. Andy Osei Okrah (Vice President - IHRMP & HR Director, Forestry Commission) - Member
5. Mr. Ebenezer Ofori Agbettor (Executive Director, IHRMP) – Member
Giving the background of the HR Complex, the President of the Institute, Mr. John Wilson said, “We started this journey by purchasing a piece of land behind the Trade Fair, Accra in 2013 and completed the necessary documentation, including a Land Title Registration. We also engaged an Architect to draw up a draft plan of the Complex, which was shown to Members at the 2013 AGM for approval. After ratification of resolution to set up a Board of Trustees for the HR Complex Development Fund at the 2014 AGM, we are here today to officially inaugurate the Board”.
The Board of Trustees has been tasked to raise about GHS17m (Seventeen Million Cedis) in the next 3 years to complete the HR Complex. Their main objective and Function are to provide financial resources and ensure sound management of the fund for the construction of the HR Complex for the benefit of Members and Corporate Ghana. The Complex will provide facilities for the Continuous Professional Education (CPE) and the Professional Certification Programme (PCP), both flagship programmes run by the Institute for HR Practitioners in Ghana.
In his acceptance speech, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Mr. Daniel Asiedu (MD/CEO, Zenith Bank) said, “This is a step in the right direction and we deem it a great honour to be a part of history being made in line with the Institute’s mission to advance the practice of human resource management in Ghana. To this end, we crave for the support of the Council and Executive Management of the Institute to discharge the task assigned to us”.
Present at the short but impressive ceremony were Council Members, Fundraising/Visibility Team Members, Tema/Accra Chapter Representatives, the media and members and staff of IHRMP Ghana.
