Country Director of Pencils of Promise (PoP), Freeman Gobah, has advised parents and guardians to continue investing in their ward's education in order to create a better future and world for them.
He also tasked educational stakeholders to assist schools with additional learning and teaching materials to achieve quality education.
Mr. Gobah gave the advice at the inauguration of a branch office of Pencils of Promise and a 6-unit classroom block in Hohoe in collaboration with the community and the Hohoe Municipal Assembly.
Pencils of Promise, an NGO, was founded in 2008 with the goal of increasing access to quality education by building schools in rural and developing communities.
The inauguration of the 6-unit block was done in partnership with the Local Government Ministry and it's aimed at positively impacting students and parents on the need for education.
"In September 2012, we broke grounds for our first schools in Ghana and l am happy to say that we have initiated 88 school projects and completed 30 including the one we are inaugurating today. It is our goal to break grounds for 100 schools by the end of 2015", Mr. Gobah said at the inauguration.
He further revealed that their efforts have impacted directly over 5,000 school children in the Volta Region.
"I wish to acknowledge the contribution of our partners especially Municipal and District Assemblies, Ghana Education Service and communities in which we work", he said.
Dr. Margaret Kweku MCE for Hohoe commended the organisation for its passion and love to help schools and the less privileged.
