Personnel from the Techiman Divisional Police Command, have arrested 18 persons for defying government's ban on social gatherings.
The arrests were conducted by the patrol team at various drinking spots late into the night.

Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Ohene Boadi Bossman, in an interview with JoyNews, indicated that the move is part of measures being taken by the police to stop social gatherings and curb the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

He cautioned the general public to cooperate with the authorities in this difficult period as the entire nation battles the dreaded Covid-19.

All 18 made up of 12 males and 6 females are currently in custody and would be arraigned before the court, police say.
