Concerned Voters Movement (CVM) has called on Ghanaians to keep former President John Mahama in opposition on grounds that he mismanaged Ghana’s economy during his Presidency.
According to the pro-New Patriotic Party (NPP) group, during the reign of Mr Mahama, Ghanaians experienced the worst governance, with corruption, erratic power, high inflation rate, among others being the order of the day.
“Everyone was suffering as the result of John Mahama's leadership crisis. The poorest of the poor, including Kayayei were all suffering under John Mahama's government,” said Founder and President of CVM, Razak Kojo Opoku, a statement.
The statement was in response to what the group believes to be ongoing efforts by John Mahama to project himself as a better alternative to President Nana Akufo-Addo ahead of the 2020 presidential election.
CVM says because Mr Mahama could not govern the country well when he was in power, he does not deserve to return to power.
“Ghana lost a significant respect in the eyes of the global community. Thankfully, President Akufo-Addo and NPP Government has restored Ghana's respect globally.
"John Mahama wasted four precious years trying to address the challenges of dumsor but was very unsuccessful before being voted out of office in 2016,” the group said in the statement.
According to the Concerned Voters Movement, John Mahama does not deserve a single vote in the December 2020 presidential polls.
