The Northern Region has recorded three more cases of Covid-19.
While two of the cases were recorded in the Nanumba South district, the third was recorded in the Tolon District from a headporter who recently returned to the community.
These results are coming from the testing centre at the Tamale Teaching Hospital Public Health Laboratory, which began testing last Thursday.
The Northern Regional Director of the Ghana Health Service, John D Eleeza, who disclosed this at a donation ceremony by the Agriculture Development Bank (ADB) to the Tamale Teaching Hospital said, the issue of stigma has begun fighting efforts made to contact trace people who might have come into contact with the Covid-19 patients.
He. therefore, appealed to the media to educate the masses on issues of Covid-19 to help reduce the stigma.
He said the Tamale testing center has conducted over 300 test of which four came out positive.
The Deputy Managing Director for ADB, Alhaji Alhassan Yakubu Tali, who presented the items to the Regional Minister said, the bank made a commitment to support government with GH¢1,000,000 to help in the fight against the Covid-19.
He said out of that amount, GH¢200,000 was donated to the Covid-19 fund and the remaining GH¢800,000 was used to purchase some assorted items to be donated to over 15 selected institutions across the country including the TTH and the Tolon district hospital.
The items donated included Veronica buckets, hand gloves. sanitisers, box of tissue, soap, spirits, nose masks among others.
