There is heavy security presence at the Supreme Court ahead of a case between the Electoral Commission (EC) and National Democratic Congress (NDC) over the compilation of a new voters' register for the December elections.
The largest opposition party is seeking the court to stop the Commission from going ahead with the exercise.

The NDC also says should the court allow the EC to compile the register, the existing voters' ID card should be used as a means of identifying prospective voters.

The EC contends that the current voters' ID card is a fruit of a poisonous tree urging the court to allow it to carry out its mandate of compiling a new register using credible documents.

The panel hearing the case includes Chief Justice Kwesi Anin Yeboah, Justices Jones Dotse, Paul Baffoe Bonnie, Sule Gbagegbe, Samuel K Marful-Sau, Nene Amegatcher, and Professor Ashie Kotey.

More than 50 police personnel can be spotted at the Apex Court ahead of proceedings.
