Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah will on Thursday open a one day photo exhibition on coronvirus pandemic at the forecourt of the ministry in Accra.
The exhibition which is organised by the Ghana Photojournalists Network to commemorate this year’s world Photography Day is under the theme 'Ghana’s Fight Against Covid-19 The Role of Photojournalists'.
The exhibition, which is the first of its kind, is aimed at educating the general public on the dangers associated with Covid-19 and its consequences; as well as promoting safety among the citizenry.
A press statement issued by Nii Adjei Mensahfio, the Ag. Communications Director of the organization he said the exhibition will feature a display of 50 photos from members of the Network across the country.
It will highlight on the various themes including prevention and safety; efforts by government and its agencies, corporate bodies relevant and civil society organisations in curbing its spread, as well as the effects of the pandemic on the socio-economic and socio-cultural life of Ghanaians.
The statement added that all Covid-19-related safety protocols will be strictly enforced during the exhibition.
Ghana Photo Journalists Network is a first press photo organisation to be operating in Ghana which seeks to promote the interest of its members and also to building their capacity to raise the standard of photojournalism in the country.
