Former President John Agyekum Kufuor says taking into consideration the many feats of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) under the leadership of President Akufo-Addo, it is in the best interest of the country to keep the NPP in power.
Speaking in a televised message at the launch of the NPP’s 2020 Manifesto, he said, “We are launching this manifesto today to offer to Ghanaians that they should give or renew the authority of government to our government that has served so well over the past three years.”
According to him, the content of the manifesto is enough evidence that within such difficult times for the world, the NPP government is the only alternative to lead the country.
“Once we remember this, I believe we can follow through with what we put in the manifesto to let Ghanaians across the board appreciate that within these times, there’s hardly an alternative, there’s no alternative to the NPP government that has discharged its work so well across the entire nation inclusively for all Ghanaians,” he said.
He lauded the performance of the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia led government in the three and half years they’ve been in office for their stellar performance.
“The government of NPP over the past three and a half years they’ve done wonders. See how government is managing the Covid-19 challenge, it’s become world acclaim.
“See how planting for food and jobs is performing. See how one district one factory is performing. We can’t stop recounting the very professional and competent performance of this government all over three and a half years,” he stated.
He, therefore, called on the citizenry to massively support the NPP in their bid to renew their authority come December 2020.
“It is in the interest of the nation to continue this leadership come December of 2020. So I believe like NPP in 2004 sailed through successfully, this time around NPP should do it even better because as they say across the spectrum, socially and politically Ghana is quickly recovering from the near slump it was in about three years ago,” he said.
