Flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has hinted at his party’s decision to make Bono Region an agro-processing capital.
According to him, the decision falls in line with initiatives aimed at adding value to the numerous raw materials found in the Region.
“There are so many crops in the Dormaa and Bono communities – cashew, cocoa, tomatoes, corn, cassava et cetera – so our plans as an incoming government is to make the Region the agro-processing capital of Ghana, in order to process goods before availing them to the world market,” he said.
Speaking to residents of Dormaa Ahenkro during his visit to the Dormaahene, Osagyefo Oseadeeye Dr. Agyemang Badu II, Mr. Mahama also assured residents of massive infrastructural development when voted into office.
“The NDC government will establish poultry processing machines at Dormaa Ahenkuro where poultry farmers can process their chicken and sell them on the various local markets in Ghana” he announced.
He again assured the youth of rolling out a 'Youth on Apprentice' program to enable them acquire training skills.
The flagbearer of the NDC asked for the Dormaahene's blessings ahead of the December 2020 general elections and urged the residents to vote massively for the NDC.

He also asked all political parties to advise their followers against electoral violence.
