On Election Day, you have only one vote. Yes, you may vote more than once but that is only if your name has been so entered as a proxy to vote for someone who is ill and unable to vote or absent from the polling station on Election Day.
The law is that that person you are voting for must first have so appointed you not less than 40 days to Election Day and the Electoral Commission must have entered your name on the proxy list. Polling or voting starts at 7 am and ends at 5 pm.
You shall lose your right to vote if you get to the polling station after 5 pm. But you are allowed to vote if you are in the queue before 5 pm. We can make voting fun. These are both constitutional and as captured in Regulations 25 and 29 of the Public Elections Regulations, 2020 (C.I. 127). That’s your legal light.
