Following a petition by an MP to the Speaker of Parliament that a motion be moved to demand that President Akufo-Addo suspends the payment of fees, many Ghanaians have taken to social media to support the move.
The MP for Bawku Central, Mahama Ayariga had argued that the suspension of fees will cushion students and parents amidst the Covid-19 pandemic and its impact on people.
But with Parliament yet to debate and conclude on the matter, a hashtag is already trending.
Social media users, mainly students from different institutions across the country are putting pressure on the government to consider the proposal.
I had to defer my course in my final year cos I couldn't pay my fees early so I wasn't supplied study materials to study for exams which was near the corner. That's why I voted and prayed JM wins cos of kyemp3 policy. But yaanom stole the win😭😭😭 #SuspendTheSchoolFees
