The Past President of the Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE), Ing. (Mrs.) Carlien Bou-Chedid BSc (Eng), Msc DIC, FGhIE has been appointed as the 5th President of the Federation of African Engineering Organizations (FAEO).
Her new appointment also makes her the first female and the first Ghanaian to hold the office of the President of the continental body, FAEO.
Ing. (Mrs) Carlien Bou-Chedid, is a consulting structural engineer with specialization in earthquake engineering and has over 35 years of experience covering activities including, building design, supervision of construction, construction management, project management, structural condition assessment, the professional education of engineers and corporate governance.
She holds a BSc (Hons) Civil Engineering from the University of Surrey, UK (1983) and an MSc (Earthquake Engineering & Structural Dynamics) and DIC from the Imperial College of Science, Technology & Medicine, UK (1999).
The FAEO is an international non-governmental organization and is the umbrella body in Africa that represents the interests of all African engineering practitioners, most notably at the Wold Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO). FAEO was established in 2011 and has its headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the investiture will be a virtual event for members from other African countries.
