Budding football star Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has joined the Black Stars camp in cape coast ahead of the upcoming international friendlies against Morocco and Ivory Coast.
The most valuable player at the 2021 Caf Under 20 championship arrived in the country last night after sealing a loan to Portuguese giants Sporting CP.
The 18-year old’s initial move to Bayer Leverkusen fell through after the German Club suspected Fatawu’s agent was courting several clubs whiles negotiations were ongoing.
Issahaku forms part of 24 players called by Charles Akunnor for the senior national team’s friendlies with Morocco and Cote d’Ivoire.
The fixtures scheduled to take place in Rabat and Cape Coast are meant to fine tune the Black Stars ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in September.
The Black Stars will play the Atlas Lions of Morocco on Tuesday, June 8, in Rabat before hosting the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire on Saturday, June 12, at the Cape Coast Stadium.
