A heavy downpour has collapsed Sefwi Tigare Basic School block from kindergarten one to primary three.
This has confined the pupils to studying under trees. The school and the community have called for support to construct a new school block.

The community members said there have been several appeals to successive governments to attend to their situation but nothing was done to save the situation until the school block collapsed.
Some of the pupils interviewed had mixed feelings about the situation. Whiles unhappy to be studying under trees, they also expressed gratitude that they were not in the block when the building collapsed.
They said they are sometimes beaten by the rain since they now study under trees. The pupils have called on the government for support.
Also, a teacher of Tigare/Yesukrom Basic School, Samuel Ntori said the school is facing classroom challenges.

He added that only the primary four to six classroom block is good shape but from Kindergarten one to primary three pupils study under trees which doesn't make teaching and learning comfortable.
The chief of Tigare/Yesukrom, Nana Donkor Oboadie disclosed that the run-down school block which was built by the community members in 1964 has not seen any reconstruction or rehabilitation by the government.
He appealed to the government and NGOs to support them construct a new school block.
