President Akufo-Addo has said that the security challenges confronting Ghana are complicated and unusual.
According to him, the recent crimes reported in parts of the country have triggered conversations around the need to intensify protection of lives and properties.
He noted that security must be a shared responsibility and called on Ghanaians to support the various security agencies.
"Today, the challenges with Ghana's security are numerous, complex and quite unpredictable. I'm aware, the recent incidents of violent crimes in some parts of the country have generated safety and security concerns from several sections of the public."
"I want to assure Ghanaians that the Police Service and indeed all the other security services are determined to deal decisively with the threats posed by dangerous criminals and criminal syndicates," he said.
President Akufo-Addo made these comments at the 50th Cadet Officers’ Graduation Ceremony held at the National Police Training School in Accra.
In all, 129 individuals passed out with various ranks; Assistant, Deputy and Superintendent of Police.
He further assured of government's support in dealing with the security problems by providing the Police adequate logistics to enable them to deliver on their mandate.

In furtherance of this, the Police Service will take delivery of two gazelle light attack helicopters and one Airbus 350 helicopter, in November, 2021, to enhance its work.
According to the President, hangars for the helicopters, located at the National Police Training School, have been completed, and 6 officers, who will fly these helicopters, have completed their training in South Africa.
