A pre-budget survey by KPMG has highlighted some conditions that could help create a sustainable business environment in the country.
The report urged government to “create more avenues for entrepreneurs to get access to funds.”
This comes days ahead of the 2022 budget statement presentation by Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta in Parliament on November 15.
This, according to the survey, will boost sessions of the public to venture into entrepreneurship and reduce pressure on the limited government payroll.
Government was tasked to “minimize corporate tax rates and create more incentives for companies to employ fresh graduates” from tertiary educations in the country.
“Introduce a national business plan to guide government developmental agenda,” the pre-budget survey added.
The pre survey also indicated that enhancing a public sector process digitalisation to reduce the operational costs to businesses would go a long way to help in the creation of a sustainable business environment in the country.
It also suggested for government to “enforce existing environmental laws and regulations. Stop encroachment in duly registered land and properties” adding that the government should “regulate better the Chieftaincy interference in running business when they see it to be profitable.”
The KPMGs pre-survey further called for a re-look into Ghana’s educational system by making it relevant to the economy.
Minimizing tax reviews as well as stabilising the prices of petroleum products was not exempted in the tall list of the to-do list.
The pre-2022 budget survey also noted that when a more holistic strategy are implored, it would help to minimise the cash-in-transit robberies on financial institutions” in the country.
