Kristodea Preparatory in Nsawam, Kuano Bright Preparatory at Kuano, and Diamond Kids Academy also at Nsawam came first, second and third respectively.
Sinapi Aba Savings and Loans and Opportunity International Germany spearheaded the awards to encourage the concept of clean and green environment in basic schools in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Jan Binder Awards has been instituted to
acknowledge schools that adhere to a cleaner environment and prioritize the good health of school children.

The awards primarily focuses on basic schools with the objective of inculcating positive traits of environmental consciousness in children right from the early stages of their development.
It considers schools that have clean classrooms with waste bins which are emptied regularly, decent toilet facilities, clean compounds with hand washing facilities and green environments among others.
Programs Manager ( International and Partner Relations ) at Sinapi Aba, Mrs. Araba Mosner-Ansong, said the award is very critical in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic where cleanliness and good sanitation practices have become an important part of the society.
“we encourage other schools to prioritize good environmental governance to ensure the health and safety of the children entrusted in their care.”
