The Bui Power Authority has completed constructing an initial 1MWp of a proposed 5MWp floating Solar PV system on the Bui reservoir.
According to Majority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh-Dompreh who is also a staunch advocate for renewable energy, the floating Solar PV system is the first of its kind in West Africa.
“The floating solar plant conserves land by being sited on the water surface. It also conserves water resources by reducing evaporation of water from the water surface,” he said in a Twitter post.
