The Municipal Chief Executive for Keta, Emmanuel Gemegah has said the aged who have contributed immensely to the development of the municipality will not be cast aside.
According to him, they will not lack healthcare and social services.
Mr. Gemegah gave the assurance at the end of year party for the aged in Keta.

"We cannot sideline those who have toiled for the betterment of this country just because they are now old, here in Keta and under my administration, it will never happen.
We must remember that the aged were once young and hard-working like we are currently, and we will also definitely become old one day, and so we need to respect and support them," Mr. Gemegah stressed.

He stated that recognising the significant roles played by the elderly is crucial to the development of society. The younger generation, he said must make themselves available to be imparted with the knowledge gained by the aged.
One of the aged, Dumegah Senanu Dotsey, from Anlo Afiadenyigba expressed gratitude to the MCE for the gifts received.

According to JoyNews correspondent, Ivy Setordjie, arrangements are being made to ensure that the MCE visits the aged who are unable to move about freely, in their respective homes.
