Founder of Atta Mills Institute, Samuel Koku Anyidoho has dispelled rumours that he has a score to settle with former President John Mahama.

According to him, the speculations of bad blood between himself and the NDC leader are not factual.

Following the death of former President John Evans Atta Mills, there were concerns of degenerating relationships between Koku and John Mahama even from his days as Vice President.

These include stories of a deliberate effort to undermine Mr Mahama during Atta Mills' tenure as President.

But speaking on PM Express, the former head of Communications at the Presidency explained that he is not sure how the rumours caught fire.

He insisted that there was no way he treated John Mahama in a derogatory manner.

“The most ridiculous one I heard was that I used to slap the Vice president. Oh! The Executive Vice President and I will be slapping him? And President Mills allowed it?” he quizzed on Wednesday.

Koku Anyidoho clarified that "there was a President at that point in time, President Mills."

"We all owed it a duty to him to work up to him but not to disrespect the Vice President."

On the suggestion of a broken-down relationship, Mr Anyidoho explained that Mr Mahama owed him a duty of care "to tell the whole world whether I ever disrespected him."

"But if he won't say it, I will continue to say mine. And the more I continue to say mine, it is as if I have something against him," he told Evans Mensah.

Though the former NDC Deputy General Secretary claimed there is no tension between them, he also revealed that he has never had a one-on-one conversation with Mr Mahama since the passing of Prof John Evans Atta Mills.

"If I meet him in public I will give him his reverence but other than that, I don't have his number," he added.

Mr Anyidoho also said he never went to the Jubilee House during Mahama's tenure as President because he had been made to understand that he was not needed there.
