One person has died in a fatal accident following the collision of two tankers on the Apam-Winneba road, Sunday.
The deceased person is suspected to be a driver of one of the vehicles.
Joy Sports' Ridwan Asante who was an eye witness said the accident was gory.
One of the vehicles has completely veered off the road, he narrated.
The body of deceased person has been covered just by the stretch of the road as police and fire officials try to tow the vehicles off the streets.
The accident has created heavy vehicular traffic Asante reported.
Officer in Charge of Winneba Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) ASP John Paul who confirmed the death of the driver also said four people sustained varying degrees of injuries and have been rushed to the hospital.
He said the accident happened around 9:30 am.
One of the tanker drivers carrying bitumen was alleged to have overtaken another vehicle and ended up colliding with the oncoming tanker vehicle.
The police have begun investigations into the accident.
