Ahead of the Black Stars World Cup qualifier playoff, ardent listeners of Joy FM have predicted their scoreline for the game.

Though the majority expressed optimism about a win for the Black Stars, others rooted for the Nigerian National Team.

The first caller, Agyeman from Tema, predicted a 2 – nil win for the Black Stars.

In spite of high expectations from the Nigerian National team, he believes Ghana is well prepared to defeat its opponent. “Nigerians think they are well prepared but Ghana will surprise them,” he argued.

The next caller, Eugene from Bator in the Volta Region, said the game will be a tough one. He said the Black Stars will win regardless.

Adom who phoned in from the Osu Oxford Street in Accra said Ghana is winning by 3 goals to Nil.

He contended that though Nigerians have quality players, football doesn’t work with just quality players. “Once you’re able to score a goal you’re done,” he added.

Godfred from Winneba intimated that “Ghana needs to win this match to cool down tempers. We need this win to release the stress,” he said.

Fred from Abossey-Okai also believes “Ghana will beat Nigeria squarely. I’m predicting 3- 1 against Nigeria but we have to beat them even if we get more opportunity to do so because that’s the only opportunity we have.”

James from Abokobi is confident that “Ghana is winning by three or four goals to nil.”

William, Gomoa said "patriotically, Ghana must win, economically Naija must win so we can save some money.

Evans in Kasoa on the other hand rooted for Nigeria. “I can feel something deep in my heart that the greens are winning Ghana by 2 goals to 1," he said.

Bolor from the Volta Region said “we are giving them 3 nil and they will take it home to Buhari.”

Edwin in Dansoman wasn't sure who would win the game, however, whatever the outcome, we must accept the outcome and remain united as Africans. "It's going to be the same Africans, the same tears crying from the same eyes; it may be Ghana or Naija," he said.

Benard from Takoradi also said "we have to be honest with ourselves. If anyone loves the continent, we should allow our neighbors to qualify."

“It may be the same hearts pumping the same blood; either Ghana or Naija but the boys [Black Stars] have a lot to prove. They can't afford to let down the country and I think they are going to play with their hearts,” he added.

Kofi from Legon said the Black Stars will win by 4 goals to nil "such that the Nigerians will forget their way back to the airport.”

Both teams are optimistic of a win.

Nigeria’s Sports Minister, Sunday Dare is optimistic that the Super Eagles will beat the Black Stars to a spot to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

He insists that Nigeria will have the upper hand in the first-leg of the game. “We are not going to Ghana to draw. We are going to beat the sh*t out of them,” he said on Wednesday.

The Ghana National Team has also expressed hopes of winning. Meanwhile all is set for the match which is set to begin 7:00pm.
