Social media users have resumed trolling the Super Eagles of Nigeria over their inability to qualify for the 2022 World Cup.
Ghana qualified to the Mundial after the away goal rule was applied following the 1-1 draw with Nigeria on Tuesday.
Two days after Ghana's victory, Ghanaians have resurfaced and reminded Nigerians of what they are missing out. This comeback has highlighted two words; "Pot" and "Port Harcourt", currently on Twitter's trend list.
This is against the background that the final draw for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022Â is taking place in Doha on Friday.
The World Cup, the 32-team football event itself, will kick off in Qatar on November 21, with the final taking place on December 18.
Why Pot?
The countries which have qualified for this year's tournament have been put into four different Pots. There is Pot 1, Pot 2, Pot 3 and Pot 4.
Pot 4 is where Ghana finds itself. The others are; Cameroon, Canada, Ecuador, Saudi Arabia, Wales/Scotland/Ukraine, Peru/Australia/UAE, Costa Rica/New Zealand. The Pot will also host the remaining three slots – two winners of the intercontinental playoffs and the remaining UEFA playoff winner.
Ghanaians are excited a "Pot" shows their presence in the 2022 World Cup. According to them, it is interesting how Ghana is in a "Pot" but Nigeria is resting in one of its cities, Port Harcourt.
For them, the exciting thing is, Nigerians are missing the real "Pot."
Twenty-nine participants, including the hosts, have already been confirmed, while the remaining three will be finalised by June this year.
Here are some reactions ahead of the final draw:
