A Physiotherapist at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital has urged Ghanaians interested in undertaking any physical exercise(s) to see their physiotherapist before doing so.
Hussein Botchway said this is important because not everyone can engage in a particular exercise at a particular time.
According to him, seeking expert advice will aid the individual to know their current health status and the appropriate exercise he or she can undertake at a given time.

He said a physiotherapist will do a proper assessment of the individual before recommending a particular exercise to the interested person.
“When it comes to physical exercises, there are several exercises that we can do but one thing I want to urge is that, before you start any exercise, see your physiotherapist because it is not every exercise that everyone can be put on.”
“You need to be assessed. So that we know your current health status so that based on that an appropriate exercise can be recommended.”

Again, Hussein Botchway asked Ghanaians to be consistent in their recommended exercise.
“One other thing is that one needs to be consistent because very often people start the year with many resolutions and one of the key things' people state is that they want to be physically fit, but you find out that some few weeks down the line, then they drop off and the key thing with exercise is consistency and one thing that we need to know is that 80% of the intended results is in the last 20% of the exercise.”

He made this known on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show on Thursday, May 26.
