The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ketu South, Maxwell Lugudor has presented 300 dual desks to the Aflao Community Day School and other four basic schools to improve effective teaching and learning.
The school with a population of 99 students currently lacks desks, teachers’ bungalows, security and desks and other important needs to help improve teaching and learning in the school.
Presenting the desks, the MCE, Maxwell Lugudor reiterated President Akufo-Addo’s commitment to making sure that the educational needs of the people in Ketu South are catered for.
Mr. Lugudor noted that the President commissioned the Aflao Community Day school with the aim of helping the young ones have access to quality education hence, the need to equip the school with the desks and other basic needs to run the school effectively.
“These dual desks being presented will help enhance quality education in our schools and with the free SHS programme, it helps the students to have peace of mind for their studies," Mr. Lugudor said.

He noted that challenges with accommodation and security for the staff would be resolved soon.
Mr. Lugudor, however, appealed to the beneficiary schools to develop good maintenance culture by ensuring that the dual desks are well maintained for the benefit of future generations.
He added that the Ketu South Municipal Assembly with the help of the government would play its part by providing assistance in that regard.
The Assistant Headmaster of the Aflao Community Day school, Promise Ahiawu in receiving the desks promised to take adequate care of them.
Mr. Ahiawu appealed to the government through the MCE to solve the many challenges faced by the school in order to improve teaching and learning.
In all 300 dual desks were presented, 200 for the Aflao Community Day School and 100 distributed to 4 basic schools which urgently need desks in the municipality.
