Government has been advised to stick to prudent economic measures adopted to restore the country’s economy in the New Year.
Some church leaders believe financial discipline from the government is the first step towards economic recovery.
Many across the Ashanti Region clad in white welcomed the New Year in churches. The night was characterized by singing and dancing in appreciation of God’s favour.
Persistent rise in cost of living led many to describe 2022 as a tough one.
Though the appreciation of the cedi at the latter part of the year led to decline in fuel prices, it is expected that prudent measures would be taken to sustain the gains.

At the Church of God, Abraham’s Temple, Head Pastor, Ernest Anyane Asare focused on leadership transforming the economy.
“Wisdom is very important in regards to development. We pray that our leaders get to put what they have learnt into practice to transform the national economy”, he said.

Head Pastor of the Redemption Assemblies of God, Rev. Patrick Agyemang Gyebi expects the citizenry to honour their part in efforts to restore the economy.
“Ghanaians should exercise patience and understand that the problem is a global problem. It will eventually be solved”, he said.

At the Calvary Charismatic Church, the citizenry is being urged to be financially disciplined in the wake of economic uncertainty.
“Once there is life there is always hope. Many complained in the previous year but we know God still has plans for us as a nation”, Joshua Obeng, a Pastor at the Church said.
Many are optimistic of success in the New Year despite uncertainties.
