Highlife artiste Kwabena Kwabena has explained why he is not visible on social media.
Although he has accounts on some of the social media platforms, he told Doreen Avio on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM that his main focus is to create music.
“Maybe I come from the old school I have this style of not being so visible. Like we learned from the Kojo Antwis, Daddy Lumbas. How many times do you see Daddy Lumba? How many times do you see Kojo Antwi?” he asked.
The ‘Adult Music’ singer said even though he understands the current generation and their love to be on social media, he cannot keep up with that lifestyle.
“We are not of that generation. We are only learning. Even with TikTok, I was recently encouraged by Jacquline Mensah to get an account,” Kwabena Kwabena noted.
“Sometimes I try to do it but when I wake up I want to create. I want to enter my studio. This actually is a distraction,” he added.
Talking about employing people to handle his social media pages for him, Kwabena told a story of how some people he previously hired to do that work for him, later hacked his account after he stopped working with him.
“When you look at my Instagram, when it started I got people to manage it. Now it gets to a point where it looks like your hands are in their mouth because you don’t really understand how it works, so they play it against you. When you want to fire somebody who works on your socials, the person actually sabotages you. They know how to actually hack it later on,” he said.
Kwabena Kwabena will be performing alongside some of Ghana’s finest crooners on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at the National Theatre at the Vitamilk Love Night show.
