Ghanaian sprinter, Saminu Abdul-Rasheed, became only the second Ghanaian after Benjamin Azamati, to run under 10 seconds - under all conditions - in the 2023 outdoor season.
The former University of Ghana athlete picked Gold in the men's 100m final for the Florida Memorial ahead of Southeastern University's Daven Worriels and Jaylyn Session, also of Florida Memorial.
His 9.97 seconds should have been enough to earn him a Budapest 2023 spot, but a wind reading of 2.6 means the sprinter will have to try again, with the qualification window still open.
However, Abdul-Rasheed's glory did not come solely from the 100m final, as he took Gold in the 200m event too, recording a time of 20.68 seconds.
The 21-year-old contributed to Florida Memorial's fourth placed finish at the 2023 SUN Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
