Gospel musician Empress Gifty has expressed worry about the lack of investment in the music industry in Ghana, particularly the gospel sector.
According by her, there are no record labels in Ghana set out to take care of the totality or artistes' funding, production, promotion, marketing and publicity.
She told Kwame Dadzie on Showbiz A-Z on Joy FM that a lot of gospel musicians are struggling to make it because of this.
“We don’t have record labels [in Ghana], do we have them?” she asked adding that every gospel artiste is doing his or her own thing.
"They are all doing their own thing. So we get so stressed because you are doing something and it everything is coming out of your pocket. It is very dangerous and frustrating,” Empress stated.
She was, however, hopeful that very soon the situation will change for the better.
“My wish is that a year from now we will get investors to put their money and connection,” she noted.
Empress Gifty has released a new song titled ‘Awieyepa’ which was produced by Shadrack Yawson, written and composed by Ewura Abena.
