The Ambassador of the United States of America to Malta, Constance Milstein has paid a courtesy call on the High Commissioner, Barbara Benisa, at the Chancery.
The purpose of the visit is to formally introduce herself to Barbara Benisa after presenting her letters of credence to the Malta President last year.
After the exchange of pleasantries, Barbara Benisa congratulated her counterpart on her appointment as the Ambassador of the United States of America to Malta and for the successful presentation of her Letters of Credence to the Malta President.
Madam Barbara acknowledged long-standing relations between Ghana and the United States and noted that the relations had witnessed active engagements and growth over the years and the exchange of high-level visits between the two countries.Â
She recalled with nostalgia her involvement in the visit of former American President Barack Obama to Ghana in 2009 and conveyed the appreciation of the Ghana government for the immense contribution of the United States of America to Ghana’s socio-economic development.

On her part, Constance Milstein thanked Madam Benisa for the warm reception and for the camaraderie exhibited by the diplomatic group in Malta.
She mentioned that Ghana remains a close partner of the United States of America and indicated her commitment to work with Madam Benisa to further strengthen the relations.
She expressed her readiness to work with the government of Malta, the Diplomatic Corps as well as local Non-Governmental Organisations and advocacy groups to promote among others, issues concerning women and children.
Responding, Madam Barbara Benisa welcomed the proposal and expressed a willingness to work with her counterparts.
She concluded by thanking the Ambassador of the United States, Constance Milstein for calling on her and reiterating her commitment to work with her to further strengthen relations between Ghana and the United States of America.
The meeting subsequently ended with the presentation of a gift by Barbara Benisa, to her American counterpart.
