The Volta Development Forum has pledged technical support to finding a lasting solution to the perennial flooding in the Ho Municipality of the Volta Region.
The Forum is concerned about the ravaging effects of the floods after an assessment tour of areas affected on the 8th of July, 2023.
“We are determined to work with the Ho Municipal Assembly and other stakeholders in the region to find a lasting solution to the flooding problem in the municipality,” said the VDF Executive Director, Daniel Agboka-Dzegede, at a meeting held with the Ho Municipal Chief Executive, Divine Boson.
Mr Dzegede hinted at working with the Ho Municipal Assembly to develop a comprehensive plan to address the flooding issue, which includes constructing new drainage systems, installation of pumps, and the establishment of a flood warning system.
He applauded the efforts of the Ho Municipal Chief Executive, Divine Bosson, for his commitment to development with the municipality's minimum resources.

He urged the Ministry of Works and Housing to visit the municipality and assess the damages caused by the disaster and implored stakeholders to form a synergy towards providing the necessary support to victims of the recent flooding incident.
He also called for collaboration to work towards raising the standard of Ho, the oxygen city, and make it a preferred destination for tourists.
"Tourists are coming to the region every day and for that matter, we must make sure the region is always kept neat," he said.
