Safe Haven Cancer Support Centre and Safe Haven Cancer Society are organizations that were started after the co-founder Janet Brakohiapa went through the cancer treatments which saved her life.
Together with her brother, Dr. Edmund Brakohiapa who is a radiologist, Janet started Safe Haven Cancer Support Centre in Ghana with the main aim of providing basic and general information about cancer, particularly breast cancer and also to bring some awareness and education about how early detection can save and lengthen the lives of people who have been diagnosed.

Since their inception, the organisations have been a source of information, encouragement and hope for cancer victims and their families, newly diagnosed patients and cancer survivors.
Currently, the organization has a physical space which was opened on October 24, 2020.
The centre provides wellness programs, educational programs, presentations and seminars. It also provides caregiver support, grief support and programs for the families and friends of the individuals who have been affected by the disease.

The general public is invited to attend the event which will include discussions on early detection, diagnosis, and treatment of breast cancer to save lives.
