Epiphany Warriors secured a spot in the Women’s FA Cup Round of 16 with a convincing 2-0 victory over Blessed Ladies. The historic win was sealed on Sunday afternoon at the Tuba Astro Turf during the round of 32 fixture.
As the 2022/23 Greater Accra Regional Football Association (GARFA) Women’s Division One Group A champions, the Epiphany Warriors effortlessly advanced for the second consecutive season in the competition, having eliminated Blessed Ladies in the round of 64 in the previous season.

Despite Blessed Ladies aiming for a place in the last 16 with a home advantage, goals on either side of halftime ensured Epiphany Warriors’ progression to their first-ever round of 16 fixture in the FA Cup.
Warriors’ captain, Gifty Acheampong, secured the lead just three minutes into the game, scoring from close range. Despite missing several chances, the away side maintained their lead. In the 56th minute, midfielder Ernestina Tetteh extended the lead to 2-0 after a well-executed pass from teammate Jennifer Darwah.
Head coach Adam Tamimu, expressing his post-game impressions, commended his players for a spirited performance, stating, “We trained hard for this game and we deserved the victory. Our opponents [Blessed Ladies] were good, and they showed it in the second half.”
When questioned about their prospects in the ongoing FA Cup campaign, Coach Tamimu expressed confidence, saying, “We are still marching forward.”
Epiphany Warriors will discover their Round of 16 opponents in the upcoming draw and commence their league season with a crucial opening-day fixture against La Ladies on the third weekend of January.
