Black Stars captain, Andre Ayew, has opened up on his famed move to Swansea back in 2015, saying he has no regrets.
Ayew made an instant impact in the Premier League with the Swans, scoring on his debut against Chelsea and earning the Premier League Player of the Month accolade in his first month as a Swansea player.
After a successful time with the Welsh side, Ayew later moved to West Ham for a then record fee of £20.5 million.
Speaking about his decision to join Swansea back in 2015, Ayew pointed out financial factors as one of the reasons for the move.
“No not at all. In France, we don’t know Swansea. Some interested teams were more renowned but did not develop the same football.
“I had a very important role, the financial aspect was also there, and I found myself in all areas. For me, it was the best choice. And as soon as I arrived, I was voted best player of the month in the Premier League.”
Ayew, now with Ligue 1 side, Le Havre, 8 years on from his move to Swansea, has been named Player of the Month for February by his club.
