Experts and education stakeholders dissected arguably the biggest component of the government's flagship Free SHS programme: feeding.
This comes after the latest JoyNews Hotline Documentary, 'Empty Plates: The Free SHS Promise' by investigative journalist Kwetey Nartey, confirmed an acute shortage of food items in many Senior High Schools (SHS) across the country.
The Free SHS policy has made giant strides in opening doors for more students who ordinarily wouldn’t have been able to afford secondary education.

However, stakeholders have emphasized that it is equally important for the government to be open to suggestions rather than antagonizing critical voices.

This new expose has reignited discussions between policy and practice as the urgent need for a well-balanced diet for thousands of students remains unresolved.

That's why JoyNews has organized a National Dialogue to interrogate the lapses and suggest solutions.
The guests are as follows: Ranking Member on Parliament's Education Committee, Dr Clement Apaak, President of the Paediatric Society of Ghana, Dr Hilda Boye, Spokesperson for the Education Ministry, Kwasi Kwarteng, Secretary for the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS) Primus Baro, Executive Secretary of Africa Education Watch, Kofi Asare and President of the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), Angel Kabonu.
