Ghanaian artiste Shatta Wale has said that the challenges comedian Funny Face is going through are reflective of the cracks in the creative industry.
In a Facebook post, the dancehall artiste indicated that the woes of the comedian go beyond problems from his failed relationships.
"The creative arts industry must break the cycle of self-punishment through depression and frustration. It's time to speak up and seek help. What's happening to Funny Face isn't solely a marital issue; it's indicative of deeper systemic challenges within our creative industries. Let's acknowledge the dysfunction in our structures and stop pretending everything is fine. Speak up, it's time for change!! Sorry my brother funny face ,May God see you thru [sic]," he wrote on Facebook.
Funny Face, also an actor, was involved in a motor accident at Kasoa in the Central Region on Sunday, March 24, 2024.
Videos that circulated on social media had eyewitnesses huddled around the actor on Sunday evening.
According to one eyewitness, he heard a crash immediately after he had parked his car.
The driver said he turned to see Funny Face’s car run into a woman with two children and a man on a motorbike.
The eyewitness added that the casualties had been taken to the hospital.
For the past few weeks, Funny Face has been complaining about the refusal of his ex-girlfriend to allow him access to his three children.
The comedian, who at some point suffered depression and sought treatment, is believed to be unstable as a result of the issues between him and his ex-girlfriend; a situation he says has prevented him from seeing his children in the last four years.
In one of his recent outbursts shortly before the accident, he stated that he was now moving on with his life elsewhere in order not to think about his predicament.
