The Volta, Eastern, and Oti Regional Secretariat of the Association of Ghana Industries has scheduled the maiden edition of the Volta Heritage Week celebration for November 2024.
The event would give a platform to showcase the rich and diverse tourism, culture, products and investment potentials of the Volta Region to a multi-section of stakeholders in the outside world.
The Volta Heritage Week slated for the national capital, Accra forms part of a blueprint developed after the 6th Volta Trade and Investment Fair, held in November 2023 to market the investment potential of the region.
The Volta, Eastern, and Oti Regional Treasurer of the Association of Ghana Industries, Dela Gbeve disclosed that the event will be organized in collaboration with the Volta Regional Coordinating Council, the Ghana Tourism Authority, the Centre for National Culture, Volta Development Forum, Aces among other institutions.
He added that it is also to market the region as a preferred tourism and investment destination to indigenes and non-indigenes both in Ghana and outside.
“The prime aim is to whip up interest among citizens of the Volta Region who reside outside the region and are reluctant to invest and visit the region”, he said.
He outlined a culture night, a quiz competition for schools from the Volta Region, an investment forum, and a mini food fair as some of the activities scheduled for the Volta Heritage Week.
The Chief Operating Officer of Volta Fair, Fred Avornyo underscored the immense potential of the Volta Region and urged indigenes of the region to participate in the region’s development agenda.
He extended an invite to the exhibitors, indigenes, investors, and revelers to patronize the Volta Heritage Week to make it a success.
