Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential aspirant and Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, says the alternative to the NPP will not benefit Ghanaians or the future of Ghana.
According to him, in order to secure victory in the upcoming elections, there should be unity amongst Ghanaians, especially the people in the Ashanti Region.
Speaking at Dr Opoku Prempeh's presentation on Tuesday, July 9, he said, “I am telling you the truth. The alternative will not help anyone or the future. So let us be united so that we can win the elections.”
He addressed issues of leadership within the party, stating that leaders must communicate respectfully with grassroots members to avoid discord.
He further urged party leaders to initiate reconciliation efforts with anyone they may have offended, stating that unity is important for breaking the eight.
“We are not saying share any money for them but give them respect. Respect changes the minds of people. Even the Bible says that if you want to be a leader, you must first be a servant. So if you have been appointed to also lead the nation, it doesn’t mean you should lord over the people.”
“With unity, we will break the eight,” he said.
