The Chiefs and people of Nawuri and Nchumuru traditional areas in the Northern region, have commended the Vice President and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, for his role in ensuring significant development in the area.
Welcoming Dr. Bawumia to Kpandai Friday morning during his campaign tour to the area, Paramount Chiefs of the two traditional areas, in a statement read on their behalf, said, as Vice President, Dr. Bawumia has excelled in assisting President Akufo-Addo, adding that as Vice President, Dr. Bawumia has used his position well to make an impact in the area in terms of development.
"The people of Kpandai are proud of you for the role you have played as Vice President in helping His Excellency to implement policies that address inequalities in the country,' the Chiefs told Dr. Bawumia.

On the efforts of Dr. Bawumia, the Chiefs said his mandate as Vice President “has brought significant development in the Kpandai district," and they listed a number of them.
“The free senior high school policy is the biggest social intervention this country has ever had. This has brought about an increase in secondary education enrolment in the history of this country.”
“Kpandai has received a lot of development across the district in education, health, agriculture, among others. Kpandai Senior High School has two new storey classroom blocks, and over 7,000 furniture and other classroom blocks across the district.”
"On health, Kpandai is also benefitting from the Agenda 111 Hospital which is about 65% complete, and a number of chips compounds across the district.”
"In agriculture, Kpandai also benefitted from the one district one factory, water harvesting rice field at Lonto and Jangbai. On peace and security, the government has put up a district magistrate court building, a one-storey police office, and a district office in Kpandai."
"On the part of electricity, the District has over 95% coverage, just to mention a few."
The chiefs requested for improvement of their road network, especially the main road linking Kpandai to Krachi, as well as an improved water system to meet the growing population of the area.
The Chiefs, on behalf of the people, wished Dr. Bawumia well, encouraged him to continue to be who he is known to be, and assured him of their unflinching support.
"Continue to be who we have known you to be and your humility will send you far. Concentrate on your 70-point vision for the country. Dr, it is possible.
"We want to thank you and assure you that, we as a people, will demonstrate that the breaking of the 8 is possible."
