The CEO of Ghana Premier League leaders, Bibiani GoldStars, Kwasi Adu has attributed the team’s transformation this season to the excellent work put in by coach Frimpong Manso.
Manso took charge of the mining team midstream last season when the team was struggling under coach Michael Osei.
After helping GoldStars to finish the season in 11th position, coach Frimpong Manso revamped the squad with some signings to key positions in the team.
Gold Stars are yet to lose a game after match day eight of the Ghana Premier League, winning five and drawing three.
According to Kwasi Adu, coach Manso’s dedication, commitment and resolve to get the best out of his players are the major contributing factors that have propelled Bibiani Gold Stars thus far this season.
“We needed to change the dressing room, especially the head, so if you recall along the line coach Michael Osei who had done some great job for us in the past two and a half years, had to sacrifice his role and his senior brother Frimpong Manso took over.
“I must say the arrival of Frimpong Manso has done magic for us. He was able to understand the problems we were facing and magically did his best to help us survive the season,” he said.
The Gold Stars CEO believes coach Frimpong Manso’s decision to bring on two players from Bofoakwa Tano this season, coupled with his all-inclusive approach has helped the team rediscover their winning form.
“Our goalkeeping area was a problem; we were conceding too many goals. Manso was able to identify one key goalkeeper from Bofoakwa Tano and he [goalkeeper] has been one of our outstanding players in terms of the successes the club is enjoying currently.
“We also needed a total change in the right back area and the head coach again brought a player from Bofoakwa and those problems are now solved. Most importantly Frimpong Manso has brought sanity into the team from management level, playing body level, supporters and whoever matters.
“He’s been able to give us unity of purpose, you could see that when Gold Stars are now moving, supporters, management and players are all in the same line and that is also a cause for the successes we are currently enjoying,” noted Kwasi Adu.
