If you’ve ever heard the phrase *"a jack of all trades, master of none,"* then you’ll quickly recognise that Dr. Omane Boamah is the exception to that rule. He is, in fact, a master of many trades—a true polymath who understands the critical connections between technology, communication, and electoral success.
As the Director of Elections and IT for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Boamah went beyond merely managing the logistics of voting stations or overseeing the flow of ballots across Ghana’s regions.
He achieved something far more transformative: modernising the election process by integrating cutting-edge technology.

His efforts established systems that made the party’s operations not only swift but also data-driven, efficient, and resilient.
He understood that, in today’s world, elections are not won solely at the polling stations but also through constant and vigilant monitoring of results from the constituencies to the national level.
By 12 a.m. on 8 December 2024, the NDC had already collated almost all the results from constituencies nationwide and knew we had secured victory. Dr. Boamah was instrumental in equipping the party with the tools and vision to ensure its message reached every corner of the nation.
His role in shaping electoral strategies, managing critical data, and ensuring seamless operations—from voter registration to election day—was indispensable.
His leadership guaranteed that no polling centre was left unmonitored, reinforcing the integrity of the electoral process and keeping the party focused on its mission.
Dr. Boamah led with finesse, ensuring the NDC consistently held the Electoral Commission to account.
But his dedication extended far beyond technical and electoral expertise. He has always been available for the party and its supporters, no matter the hour. You could call him at 1 a.m., and he would answer without hesitation, working swiftly to resolve any issue.
Dr. Omane Boamah’s unwavering dedication to the NDC and to Ghana’s democratic progress will leave an indelible mark on the nation’s history. He foresaw the future before many of us even realised it was upon us.
For his visionary leadership, tireless pursuit of progress, and unyielding commitment to strengthening Ghana’s democracy and ensuring the NDC’s success in the 2024 general elections, we owe him a profound debt of gratitude.
He has laid a foundation upon which we will continue to build as we march towards a brighter, more connected future. Thank you, Dr. Boamah, for your service and inspiration.
