President-elect John Mahama has issued a firm caution to individuals aspiring to serve in his incoming administration, advising them to forgo government roles if they are unwilling to work hard.
During a courtesy visit by the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, and his delegation on Thursday, 12th December, Mr Mahama underscored the importance of diligence and accountability in governance.
He emphasised that Ghanaians expect competent leadership and warned against complacency or inefficiency within his administration.
“Ghanaians are slow to react, but when they have had enough, they will hold you accountable. I urge those aspiring to serve in the new government to understand that it will not be easy or business as usual," he stated.
"It will require hard work and sacrifice. If you are not prepared to work diligently for Ghana, then it is better to remain in the private sector.”
