A student from the All Nations University College in the Eastern Region fell to her death from the school's storey building Wednesday evening Joy News has learnt.
Benedicta Nana Esi Aido, 22, fell from the top floor of the school building, where she was praying with about 20 members of the Campus Prayer and Evangelism group, Joy News' Eastern Regional correspondent Kofi Siaw reported.
School authorities have remained tightlipped on the matter but the Eastern Region police have confirmed the incident.
Police have cordoned off the area of the incident and have begun investigations.
The New Juabeng District Police Commander Superintendent Richardson Kumeko who confirmed the incident said the deceased and others were having prayers when the incident occurred.
He said preliminary investigations indicated that while praying, the victim was possessed by the 'Holy Spirit' and began jumping, oblivious to the dangerous environment she was in.
She fell from the edge of the 'rooftop' and onto a stationary truck.
Superintendent Kumeko did not rule out the possibility, however, that the victim could have been shoved off the building, and assured that the police would get to the bottom of the .
Sources indicate that the students have been frequenting the "rooftop" of the building, against campus regulations and despite several warnings from school authorities.
The victim is said to be a first year business administration student and doubles as the class representative.
She is said to be a staunch christian and very prayerful.
