The European Union (EU) and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ghana have launched the inaugural cohort of the Team Europe Youth Sounding Board Ghana.
This initiative aims to empower young changemakers to play a pivotal role in influencing policies and programmes that directly impact their lives and communities. The Youth Sounding Board is a global European initiative, aligned with the EU’s commitment to youth empowerment.
"By actively engaging the younger generation, we aim to address pressing issues relevant to youth in Ghana, including economic development, education reforms, and social equity. Participants will have the opportunity to share their perspectives, collaborate on innovative solutions, and influence the policies that will shape the future of their nation," said Irchad Razaaly, the EU Ambassador to Ghana.
The Team Europe Youth Sounding Board offers young leaders a unique opportunity to contribute valuable insights, helping to guide EU and Netherlands programmes and policies for Ghanaian youth. Participants will collaborate with the EU, the Netherlands Embassy, development partners, and their peers to address key issues and take part in a transformative process.
Over two years, Youth Sounding Board members will engage with the EU and the Netherlands Embassy, advise on policies from a youth perspective, advocate for inclusive development, and engage with local and international stakeholders.
This initiative underscores Team Europe's commitment to enhancing youth participation in fostering inclusive, innovative, and sustainable development solutions.
Applications are open from 21st January 2025 to 20th February 2025. Young Ghanaians aged between 18 and 32 years are encouraged to apply.
The selection committee will prioritise inclusivity in the process to ensure that the board is representative. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate active community engagement and leadership skills. The evaluation will focus on those who show a commitment to driving positive change and the ability to collaborate with others.
This is a unique opportunity for young leaders eager to inspire change and make a lasting impact by joining the Youth Sounding Board Ghana.
