A young man, believed to be in his early twenties, has been discovered dead with his hands and legs bound.
His body was found in a large rubbish container near a public toilet at Mempeasem in Bole town on Saturday, 8 February 2025.
Confirming the incident to the media, Abu Hassan, the Assemblymember for the Mempeasem electoral area, expressed deep concern over the recurring nature of such crimes.
He disclosed that this is the eighth reported killing of its kind in the area, raising fears among residents.
Mr Hassan further stated that the matter has been officially reported to the police, who have commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the murder.
The body has since been deposited at the Bole Hospital morgue for further examination.
Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to aid in curbing such disturbing incidents.
The community continues to call for enhanced security measures to prevent further tragedies.
