President John Mahama has called on all Ghanaians to live the dreams of the country’s forefathers, expressing his belief that the vision they had for the nation can be realised within our lifetime.
In his address during the 68th Independence Day Anniversary at Jubilee House on Thursday, March 6, President Mahama reflected on Ghana’s rich history and the sacrifices made by the country's founding fathers.
He emphasised the importance of unity, hard work, and dedication in fulfilling the aspirations that the nation’s leaders envisioned when they fought for independence in 1957.
"As I said before Parliament, we shall live the dreams of our forebears in our lifetime. This is not just a promise; it is a call to action," he stated.
The President's message aligned with the theme of the anniversary, "Reflect, Review and Reset," urging Ghanaians to continue building on past achievements while facing contemporary challenges with optimism and resolve.
"Let this be our mission to rise above fear, silence the voices of doubt, harness the strength within us, and create a future that is fair, prosperous, and inclusive," he added.
His call for unity and shared responsibility was especially significant given the current economic challenges facing the country.
President Mahama’s address served as a reminder that the nation’s journey toward true self-sufficiency and prosperity is an ongoing effort, one that requires the commitment and resilience of all Ghanaians.
