President John Mahama has hailed his administration’s swift appointment and parliamentary approval of ministers.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony of deputy ministers on Wednesday, March 12, Mr Mahama noted that his ministers have been cleared for duty in record time, allowing them to begin work on fulfilling key campaign promises.
“We’ve also achieved the earliest approval of ministers by Parliament under the Fourth Republic, enabling them to get to work to roll out our commitment to the people of Ghana,” President Mahama stated.
He expressed gratitude to the Speaker of Parliament and Members of the House for their swift cooperation in vetting and confirming his ministerial nominees.
In line with his commitment to a lean and efficient government, Mr Mahama highlighted that the appointments made at the presidency have also reflected this principle.
“The same commitment to composing a lean government has found expression in the appointments made at the presidency so far. So far, I have appointed 27 presidential staffers in various roles and three persons as directors,” he disclosed.
