Harvard University will host one of Ghana’s most accomplished and inspiring business icons, Dr Ernest Ofori Sarpong, as a distinguished speaker at the 16th Annual Africa Development Conference (ADC) from April 11 to 12.

Themed “Africa by 2040: The Future of Africa’s Youth,” the conference is a major platform for shaping discourse on the continent’s development.

Dr. Sarpong’s participation is a proud moment not only for Ghana but also for the global Ɔdadeɛ fraternity.

A proud alumnus of Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School (PRESEC), Legon, Dr. Sarpong embodies excellence, impact, and visionary leadership.

From his early days in PRESEC’s iconic blue uniform to becoming a towering figure in Ghana’s economic landscape, his journey is nothing short of inspirational.

He is the founder of Special Investments Ltd., Special Ice Ltd., and Special Homes Ltd., companies that have made significant contributions to Ghana’s real estate, water production, and construction sectors.

He also co-founded Best Point Savings and Loans, U2 Salt Ltd., and United Television (UTV Ltd.), now one of Ghana’s leading television stations.

Currently, Dr. Sarpong serves as the Global President of the Ɔdadeɛ Alumni Association (Ɔdadeɛ Global) and as Board Chairman of PRESEC, where he continues to guide and support the next generation of leaders.

Under his leadership, the alumni association has expanded its reach and impact, driving initiatives focused on educational excellence, infrastructure development, and youth empowerment.

Dr. Sarpong holds an MSc in Finance and Investment Management from Salford University in Manchester, is a Chartered Accountant, and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana.

His leadership, rooted in integrity, vision, and a strong sense of national duty, has earned him both local and international recognition.

At the upcoming Harvard ADC 2025, Dr. Sarpong will address a critical issue: How can Africa harness its rapidly growing youth population for transformative progress by 2040?

With over 500 attendees and a distinguished lineup of thought leaders and policymakers expected, his insights, drawn from decades of entrepreneurial and civic leadership, are sure to inspire.
